Dhanush with PM

We all are aware as to the far and wide reach of Dhanush's rendition of 'Kolaveri...,' a single from his wife Aishwarya's debut film '3.' After amassing fans in Youtube the song went off to become the most popular Tamil song of India even up North with the mostwanted personalities of the country having something to say about the song!

Now it seems like this single has fetched the national award winning actor an invite for dinner from nothing less than the PM's office.

Dr. Manmohan Singh is hosting a state dinner for his Japanese counterpart Yoshihiko Noda at his 7 Race Course Road residence, New Delhi. Dhanush has also received an invite to be part of this prestigious dinner party which will see the who's who of the nation gather under one roof. Dhanush is absolutely thrilled that this song has fetched him so much popularity.

The actor is literally living out of his suitcases these days. He was recently in Kolkata to launch Nokia's smart phones. The actor also called upon the residence of Big B and met Abhishek and new mom Aish. According to Dhanush the soup song has become so popular for three reasons - one is the English words that connect instantly with the listener, the meaning of the lyrics and the humor that bond with the youth. While the fans for this song are many, some people, in particular Tamil pundits and music critics have shunned this song.

There are also some reports that the actor was personally called upon by none other than Ratan Tata, who invited the actor for a dinner with him at his place recently! Dhanush is truly going places, thanks to his 'Kolaveri...'!

He is both brainy and brawny. He shares an close rapport with with a old m,an (K Vihswanath). To see him smile in his old age is the mission of Anal Murugan. Measnwhile there is a romantic escapade between Anal Murugan and Pooja (Deeksha Seth).
One fine day, Murugan comes to know that land mafia had cheated the old man. Now he starts his mission. He zeroes in on Pradeep Rawat and his men. Now it is up tothe antics of Murugan in teaching the baddies a lesson.

Performance
It's Vikram's show all the way. The Vikram of Dhool is back. Amazing how the actor has strong screen presence and entertains you in every frame. He is right there at his best in wit and humour. Also when it comes to action, he is not far behind. It is a vintage Vikram for you. Deeksha Seeth oozes glamour and fits the ooph factor well. Well, Vishwanatha is a rock solid and gives right expressions. Three cheers to the scenes involving him and Vikram. Pradeep Rawath oozes venom in his eyes. He plays a typical villain in any commercial movie. Besides there is a huge star cast that includes Avinash, Thambi Ramiah, Mayilsamy besides Mithra Kurien sharing a major screen space.
The one song featuring Vikram, Reema Sen and Shriya is catchy and trendy.

Technicalities
Three cheers to cinematographer Madhi. He manages to capture a commercial film in different hue andvibrant colours. His lens oozes with energy. Kasi Viswanathan's cionematography is another highlight. The movie is crisp and razor sharp. Well, Yuvan Shankar Raja has come up with some average tunes. The different get-ups of Vikram sustains greater interest.

Analysis

Suissenthiran had proved in the past that he is a master in handling realistic themes. Now with Rajapattai, he has gone one step further and churned out a film that is racy and rivetting. WIth Vikram to his rescue, he has proved making commercial films too is his cup of tea. All said, the movie is ewngrossing and Adventerous..

"Apt to the movie's title, Arulnidhi's character will be filled with silence, till a turning point comes in the script. From there starts a journey with twists and turns, which will keep the audience on the edge of their seats," they say.

"There will be less dialogues between the lead pair- Arlulnidhi and Iniya (Of 'Vaaga Sooda Vaa' fame). But their chemistry will be good to see on screen. On the whole, Santhakumar has shaped up the film as an interesting fare," sources add.

Osthi movie review

Movie: Osthi
Cast: Silambarasan, Richa Gangopadhyay, Jithan Ramesh,Sonu Sood, Saranya Mohan, Santhanam, Ganesh, Nassar, Revathi,Vijayakumar, Mayilsamy, Thambi Ramaiah, Mallika Sherawat
Director: S. Dharani
Music Director: Thaman
Producer: Mohan Apparao, T. Ramesh

Story:

A corrupt cop Osthi Velan (Simbu) a totally fearless but corrupt police officer with unorthodox working methods. But even the most fearless at times face a tough fight with their innermost demons. Osthi has had a bitter childhood. His father passed away when he was very young after which his mother (Revathy), married another person. Osthi has love & hate relationship with his half brother Balan (Jithan Ramesh). He decides to take control of his destiny and detaches himself from his stepfather and half brother.

One day Osthi fall in love with Neduvali (Richa Gangopadhyaya), daughter of a drunkard (VTV Ganesh). They get attracted to each other and love each other. There is an enemy to Osthi Velan in the form of Boxer Daniel (Sonu Sood). The rest of the story revolves around, how Osthi win over Daniel and get's Neduvali.

In a single word, Its Simbu's show. As a funny corrected cop he delivered energetic and entertaining performances. His fights and dances are highlights in the movie. However, one can’t compare Simbu’s performance with Salman Khan’s performance. STR has his own style of body language.

Sonu Sood does what he did in the original. He got good screen presence in the movie. Next to STR, Sonu Sood’s character is main and important character in the movie.

Richa Gangopadhyaya, who was supposed to make her debut in Kollywood with this movie has done good job. However, this is her second released movie, the first was Mayakkam Enna. As Neduvalli, who is in love with Osthi Velan, she is homely yet glamorous. Her expressions and emotions are apt and director extracts the best from Richa.

Jithan Ramesh acted as step-brother of Osthi. He has a done a meaty role which has good screen presence. He played a energetic role in which he loves Saranya Mohan and tries hard to marry her.

Santhanam acted as funny cap. He is at his best and scenes involving him and Simbu brings lot of laugh.

The other important cast VTV Ganesh, Thambi Ramiah, Nasser, and Revathy done their job well.

One of the highlight of the movie is item song, in which Bollywood sexy-siren Mallika Sherawat steals the show.

The story and taking of the movie is almost equal to original version, Dabangg. However, director Dharani managed to bring Tamil flavor to the movie with minor changes in characterizations and script.

Thaman's music and background score is excellent. The title song of the movie sung by Baba Sehgal is best in audio.

This is a full fledged commercial movie by Dharani with all the elements and flavors included. The dialogues and cinematography are good.

Finally:

Watch the movie for fun, action and romance. Full entertainment guarantee!

Rating-3.5/5
