Ladies vs Ricky Bahl is an upcoming Bollywood romantic comedy film directed by Maneesh Sharma and produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films. It will star Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma in lead roles and marks the debut of Priyanka Chopra's cousin, Parineeti Chopra.The pair will be seen together, once again, after their last hit together Band Baaja Baraat. The film is set to release on December 9, 2011. It is inspired by John Tucker Must Die.


The film started shooting early April with plans to be in theatres worldwide on 9 December 2011, the same weekend Anushka Sharma's films Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Band Baaja Baaraat released.

During the shoot of the scooter sequence, Ranveer burnt his foot when the scooter skid on some gravel and fell on him. A doctor was called on set immediately but Ranveer kept shooting and ensured that the schedule was not delayed.

During one of the shots on the jet ski, a big wave hit Ranveer and Anushka and flung them in different directions in the middle of the sea. Yet both of them braved 20-foot waves, despite the jet ski being capsized and gave the perfect shot.

Maneesh Sharma, the director of the film, decided to add boats against the beach in one of the shots to make it more interesting - this last minute addition made for a perfect shot and the boats became an integral part of a decisive scene in the movie that involves the entire cast.

While shooting in Lucknow, the entire Imambara area had to be cordoned off. Massive crowds appeared to watch Ranveer Singh shoot and kept calling him “Bitoo! Bitoo aa gayaa!” Rambo was a clear favorite and worked the crowd very well by obliging fans with waves, hugs and pictures! After pack up, the entire cast feasted at Lucknow’s famous "Tunda Kababi."

Anushka Sharma was a pro scooter rider (she has previously also driven a scooter with aplomb in ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’) during an important scene, she drove with the DOP (who was holding an extremely heavy camera) sitting behind her. Her astute driving sense, allowed him to shoot a rear view mirror from the bike quickly and efficiently.

Ending all rumors that have been going around saying that there has been a heroine change in the heroine of the upcoming Telugu movie 'Gabbar Singh,' the director of the film, Harish Shankar, has confirmed that Shruti Haasan will be the heroine of this film. The director has asked fans to not get carried away by baseless rumors that have been springing up recently.

Harish also revealed that the shooting of 'Gabbar Singh' would begin by December. Her presence in the film was also confirmed by Shruti Haasan herself. She is happy to be part of the Telugu remake of the Bollywood blockbuster film 'Dabangg.' The film is produced by Ganesh Babu at a cost of more than 40 Crore rupees and with Shruti's latest movie '7aum Arivu' doing good business, the actress is believed to be in high spirits.

Shruti Haasan, is at the moment, working in Aishwarya Dhanush's '3' where she will be seen along with Dhanush. With the top brass of team 'Gabbar Singh' making sure that it is Shruti Haasan who will play the lead lady in the film, the rumours will come to an end hopefully.

Shruthi Hassan is going in her way and grabbing golden opportunities. Her debut film Anaganga O Dheerudu with Siddharth in Telugu was not succeeded at the Box-Office, but Shruthi glamour had got good marks from the movie. Shruti is playing the female lead role with NTR in Boyapati Srinu’s direction which is tentatively titled as Dammu and the other is Siddharth’s Oh My Friend.
Now, the actress has been roped in for the lead role in Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s Gabbar Singh. Earlier, Kajal Agarwal has been considered for this role, she has moved away from the project due to call sheets problem, as she got offered for Mahesh Babu next The Businessman. Now, Shruti made it.
The movie Gabbar Singh will be directed by Harish Shankar and produced by Ganesh Babu on Parameswara Arts banner.

Dhanush plays Karthik (Dhanush), a freelance photographer who has greater passions, goals and ambitions in his life. For him, life is never easy. His greatest goal in life is to become a freelance photographer. He is helped in achieving his goal by his buddie Sundar (Sundar). WIth friends, Karthik has a gala time. At one situation, Karthik is introduced to Yamini (Richa), Sundar's girl friend. They are poles apart. Opposite sides and tastes never match. Karthik often ends up quarreling with her. Call it fate, it soon blossoms into love.What happens then in their lives is narrated in Selvah's style.

Karthik hangs out with his friends and is extremely close to Sundar (Sundar) who introduces his girlfriend Yamini (Richa) to the gang. Initially Karthik and Yamini can’t stand each other but there lies the twist, when opposites attract.

Call it a Dhanush - Selvah special. The younger brother deliver what his elder wants on screen without any hiccups. They both combine to give their best.
Dhanush's emotions are well-captured and Selvah has ensured that it is all real and authentic. Dhanush has not let down Selvah and emotes pucca. Especially towards the climax, Dhanush simply rocks. Richa is tailor-made for the role. She has a meaty role which she does well. Sundar too does Justice to his selection. All the rest have a part to play.

Selva tells a simple story and packages it beautifully with the correct mix of entertainment elements. A couple of scenes stand out like the hatred between the lead pair evaporating into a kiss on a rainy night in a bus stand. The scenes of the hero pleading with the master photographer to make him his assistant and the shot in the forest when Karthick gets the shot of the rare bird that he was chasing.

In the end, the film belongs to Dhanush. He delivers his best work till date, emerging as the emotional soul of this film with spectacular, yet restrained performance that he constructs with the help of a solid script. Be it the spirited teenager, the frustrated photographer, the guilty friend, an insecure, unpredictable, alcoholic husband and the mature man at the end. For Dhanush alone, this film deserves a watch.

Richa is impressive in her first film in Tamil. She is able to stand up to Dhanush in the difficult climax scenes of the film. The voice modulation of Deepa Venkat who has dubbed for her has given the character the extra edge. Famous still photographer Sundar has made his acting debut as hero’s best friend and is riveting. Ravi Prasad as the scheming ace photographer who boils with rage seeing younger competitors is convincing.

It is cinematographer Ramji and G V Prakash who join hands to weave a magic. Both does added strength to the script. Selvah's script takes twists and turns and ends up on a positive note with dialogues attracting applause.

Though shades of Kadhal Kondein can't be ruled out, Mayakkam Enna will have a mesmerising effect. welldone Selvah!.

Osthi is postponed to Pongal and is not releasing with Mayakkam enna next week. Another movie pushed for Pongal release is Vettai. Madhavan, Arya starring vettai has still two songs to be shoot. Arya and Amalapaul are flying for a song shoot in gulf countries and this could not be completed for the December relase and hence its getting released by Pongal 2012 along with Vijay starring Nanban and other movies.

Saguni is also releasing on the same day. Pongal release tamil movies are going to have a tough competetion from theatre occupation to box office collections. Vjay-Shankar team has a strong backup from Velayudham success. Also Udhanidhi stalin has bought distribution rights of Nanban, proving he is Vijays nanban.

Gautham Menon started working on Ek Deewana Tha, the Hindi remake of his superhit Tamil film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa which was also released in Telugu as "Ye Maaya Chesaave", in 2011, with Prateik Babbar and Amy Jackson in the lead roles. Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, considered by many as path-breaking, gave an all-new image for the lead pair of Silambarasan and Trisha Krishnan. Though the Hindi remake initially had Trisha Krishnan reprising her role, the actress was unceremoniously dropped from the project after a photo shoot and replaced by Amy Jackson, who shot to fame with the Tamil film Madrasapattinam.

Gautham Menon was trying out a 'look shoot' at the same locations where he shot Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, including a popular seaside restaurant on ECR, Chennai. A source close to the director said, "This shoot was just to get the 'feel' of the film. The actual shoot will take place in Mumbai from next month." According to the sources, A. R. Rahman's original tunes will be retained for Ek Deewana Tha as well, while the film also features Gautham Menon's regular technical team, consisting of art director Rajeevan and editor Anthony Gonsalves.

Noted poet, story and screenplay specialist, Javed Akhtar recently was in Chennai, supervising the script and writing the lyrics for the film. A source close to the development said, "Javed saab and Gautham hit it off well. The lyricist's inputs will be taken into consideration as Gautham is particular that his film should not come across as a routine South Indian remake.

Amy Jackson, playing a Syrian Christian in the film, said that, "I'm very kicked about working with Gautham Menon. I've seen VTV at least 15 times. Ek Deewana Tha is a perfect launch pad for me in Bollywood. He is a perfectionist and I know he will shape my character according to the needs and tastes of the Bollywood audience. I've begun the first schedule of the film and I'm planning to hire a Hindi tutor to help me sail through it.

The shooting of the film was to start in late-2010 but Prateik Babbar was busy with the promotions of Dhobi Ghat.Finally, the shooting of the film commenced in April 2011, with the entire cast and crew of the film in Mumbai.The shooting of the film has been progressing in various localities in Mumbai and the Ek Deewana Tha team went down to Kerala and began the second schedule there in May 2011. Once the shooting of the film in Kerala was over, they went to Chennai in June 2011 to shoot few important scenes in Amethyst, Chennai, while, some of the songs are also scheduled to be shot in AVM Studios, Chennai.In July 2011, after the shooting of the film in Chennai was completed, the next schedule of the film was started at The Taj Mahal, Agra, while the shooting of the film was also held in Delhi.Finally, the cast and crew of the film will fly to the United States to shoot some important portions.

The soundtrack and film score for Ek Deewana Tha is composed by A. R. Rahman, retaining the same tunes from Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. As reported, the soundtrack album consists of eight songs, with additional two new tunes and lyrics penned by Javed Akhtar, collaborating with Gautham Menon for the first time. The soundtrack album is expected to release in 2012.

Rajinikanth&Aamir Khan...

There were reports that Superstar Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan would come together for a public service advertisement to be made by Union Health Ministry to create awareness on child health in India. However, this has been denied by those at the top actor's office.

In a statement, Rajini's spokesperson Sudhakar said, "Rajinikanth has not signed any agreement related to the advertisement. And he has not given any commitment to anyone in this regard. Also, we can not confirm that he would act with Aamir Khan in that advertisement."

Last week, reports claimed that the ad film was part of the Health Ministry's special awareness advertisement campaign about the malnutrition of children in India.



"A recent study stated that the mortality rate among Indian children is high due to malnutrition, which is why the government decided to spread awareness on the subject through an ad campaign. Aamir Khan has also been roped in for the initiative, which will advocate the eradication of malnutrition," a source was quoted as saying.

It added: "Rajini doesn't endorse any product, but when he was told that it was an ad film for an awareness program, he readily agreed. Aamir too agreed instantly on learning that Rajini sir is also part of the campaign. The campaign will reach the audience in the form of television advertisements, newspaper ads and hoardings among other things."
